**Tata Motors clarifies that the company has not advanced the commencement of production and launch of the Tata Nano, as is being reported in a section of the electronic media.

As mentioned, during the unveiling of the Nano at the Delhi Auto Expo on January 10, 2008, the company will launch the car in the latter part of 2008.

Tata Motors' Nano, easily the world's most talked-about car these days, will make its international debut at the 78th Geneva Motor Show in the first week of March.

The five-door hatchback that costs just Rs 100,000 ($2,500), making it the world's cheapest, was unveiled in January this year at the Auto Expo here.

Nano would be among Tata Motors' exhibits at the show, a company spokesperson said here.

    Sales of Nano, nicknamed the
people's car for its affordable pricing that will make four-wheelers available to millions of middle-class people who hitherto rode two-wheelers, is expected to start in the second half of this year.

Although the car has its share of critics, it has undeniably put India on the global automotive map and has triggered a race among leading car makers to match the Nano price-point. Already, car manufacturers Renault and Nissan are eyeing a $3000 car.

    The Nano, which Tata
Motors has said meets all safety and emission norms, will share the limelight with top marques from around the world that are expected at the show. This year's edition of the Geneva Motor Show will mark the 11th year of participation for Tata Motors.

    HYUNDAI i10

It’s the most important launch from the Hyundai stable since flagship Santro rolled out nearly ten years ago. The i10, which was codenamed PA, had been creatign a buzz for a while and there was a lot of market interest in the new small car from the Hyundai stable. As it turned out, the new i10 proved to be both a cool package of features, well styled and designed and at a very aggressive price to boot.
Powered by a 1.1 litre iRDE petrol engine (a diesel version will debut first in the export market and later in India), the i10 offers nearly 67 PS A@5500 rpm and a peak torque of 10.1kgm@2800 rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with a console mounted ergonomic, short throw, i-shift gear box which frees up the space between the driver and the passenger seat and also offers a new look. An electric power steering makes it easy for i10 to negotiate city traffic.
The i10 has very decent cabin space. All the models have AC/ heating, folding rear seats, dual tone beige interiors, rear seat belts and an electronic trip and odometre as standard fitment. The top end model comes with features like a panoramic sun-roof (a first in the B-seg), rear spoiler, leather wrapped steering wheel and gear knob, keyless entry and 2DIN audio system.

The flowing contours and large clear eyed headlamps and the new style front grille give the car a distinctive look. The light weight steel body is reinforced by body coloured bumpers with detachable inserts and an integrated air dam for the front bumpers. The suspension set up with Macpherson struts in the front and coil springs coupled with torsion bar in the rear ensures that the ride is smooth.
Features like full front and rear arm rest, plenty of leg and shoulder room for the rear seat and a tilt steering wheel all help make the drive smoother and more comfortable. A wider wheelbase of 2380 mm offers more cabin space.
Tubeless tyres are standard on all trims. The i10 also offers top end safety features like the ABS, seat belts with pretensioner, dual air bags, impact sensing autodoor and high mounted stop lamp in the rear.
The car is available in 10 colours. The company is offering the i10 with a two year unlimited warranty.

Bajaj has officially not announced any plans to launch 300cc right now in India. So if you come across any news about it then it’s completely one of false gossips.
